SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE (1970) dir. Harold Prince In post-war Austria, young, handsome country lad Konrad Ludwig charms his way into a butler position at the castle of the widowed (and destitute) Countess von Ornstein. He is soon running the entire household--and all the bedrooms, as he starts affairs with the countess' son Helmuth and Anneliese Pleschke, the daughter of wealthy businessman Herr Pleschke. From this, Konrad decides to get his two lovers to marry each other and restore the countess' finances. (link in title)

US Vogue July 1963
Famous theater director and producer Harold Prince reading a magazine. Leaning carelessly on her shoulders, Veruschka listens to him with an absent ear; she is dressed in one of the most luxurious indoor tops: a sleeveless, slightly flared chinchilla sweater. By Maximilian from Empress chinchilla and pants from John Weitz Boutique, in pale beige silk satin. Black sandals with all straps and sequins by Bernardo. Laguna's bracelet. Hair by Kenneth.

“She cast her fragrance and her radiance over me. I ought never to have run away from her… I ought to have guessed all the affection that lay behind her poor little stratagems. Flowers are so inconsistent! But I was too young to know how to love her…” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

just finished s3 of valhalla yesterday. thoughts:
- the thing i was most afraid of was a bad ending. but thankfully, valhalla actually had a wonderful ending, and i am very satisifed with it.
- the season was AMAZING, i'd say it is easily the best season. it had so many adventures and many moments that made me pause the show 'cause i could not believe they happened. and my favorite thing, it was very colorful and had very wholesome moments, but a good amount of sad moments as well. which i also loved.
- the villains were the best!! i loved every single one
- i loved all of the conflicts as well. they kept me on my toes the whole season
- i would've preferred more seasons of course, at the very least one more. so that we could see leif and freidys find the golden land, reunite with harald ii and also for harald to meet him because that is his son, after all. and of course, for us to see harald and freydis rule together at some point. but i guess they just didn't have the same goals, and that's okay.
- queen aelfgigu shouldn't have died but i also understand how it felt necessary for the plot. so i'll let it slide.
- the whole dynamic of king canute's sons wanting the throne and the issues with duke william had me wanting a spinoff with william, emma's sons and canute's sons
- in general, it was a fantastic season. i enjoyed every bit of it and i have many more thoughts, but all i have to say is:
thank you to the entire cast and crew of vikings: valhalla. you did a wonderful job in every season and i wish you would've stayed a little bit longer. at the very least, one more season. but it was a really good ending, despite the fact that we could've had a little more.
btw, i do not forgive y'all for killing off kaysan, batu and dorn. one of the most painfully devastating things i've ever had to watch❤️‍🩹
ALSO, I NEED HAROLD HAREFOOT FICS. WHERE ARE THEY?

I'm not saying Dreamworks should make a spin-off on Fairy Godmother but I do need to know just how deep her influence goes.
Why was making a wish with her so fanciful and pretty yet Rumpelstiltskin has to do his deal-making from a carriage in the woods.
What would she had done if Farquad married Fiona. I personally would love to know how Fairy Godmother would have systematically and economically lead Duloc to ruin just to in sure Charming be the King of Far Far Away.
Was Lillian always supposed to marry Harold? Who is Charming's father? Just how did she become this way?

Everyone says:
Tumblr media
Billy rolls his eyes, crosses his arms, and displays the sassiest attitude possible. “Hugs are for sissies. Bleh.” He’s standing upside-down on the ceiling, so you have tough luck reaching him. The First Born Son sticks his tongue out at you and flickers away.
Jimmy crosses his arms thoughtfully. His voice is muffled by the plastic around his head. “Sheesh, I dunno, kid. I don’t get nothin’ out of hugs, personally.”
Susan giggles and throws her arms around your neck, bringing you in close. She comes between you and Jimmy, so you can’t hug him. “Hehehehe! You’re so cute. And funny.”
Jean smiles softly and brings you into a hug, but she’s a little sad. “Please don’t say that—that you don’t care what happens. Take care of yourself, hon.” She’s frightened of some of the other ghosts. She can sense them stirring in irritation.
Royce grimaces. “I don’t even know you, man. Back off.” He flips his baseball bat—to show off, or would he really use it?
Dana taps the edge of her knife, seeming bored, but if you approach her she raises it at the ready. There’s no doubt she would use it.
Isabella hangs back. She stays far away from everyone, and far away from you. She doesn’t want trouble, but her glare suggests you’ll get it if you push her too far.
Margaret and Harold are shy. They glance to each other—silent, still.
George contemplates. His expression is hard, and his stance just as tense. But when you approach and throw your arms around him, the blacksmith softens. He pats you awkwardly on the back, using his other arm to hold back the still-raging Ryan.
“Hell no!” The Jackal screeches when it’s his turn, no longer after you when it’s you after him. He cowers like a dog. “Not again. Get away from me—I don’t want it!”
As you approach Horace, his bloodshot eyes burn down on you. His arms are crossed. All this affection is annoying him immensely. He grabs you and hurls you away; the rest of the ghosts gasp.

So after Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, I’ve seen a few jokes about Death the Wolf being present for every Death in the Shrek franchise (Fairy Godmother’s death in Shrek 2, Harold’s or Charming’s death in Shrek The Third, etc)
Meanwhile - if we’re taking Shrek 4-D as canon - I’m  picturing Death side- eyeing Farquaad’s ghost. Especially when he declared that he will rule the Underworld. Which depending on the folklore, is more often than not the Death’s domain, be it a god of death, or an angel of death.
Bottom line, while Farquaad’s ghost was plotting to kill Fiona, Death was at the river’s edge, sharpening his sickles. And considering Farquaad was A. an arrogant prick and B. a spirit at this point ? He may have very well seen Death all the while.
-----
Farquaad’s Ghost: “You might as well stop struggling, Princess; soon, you and I will be together forever. With you as my spirit Queen, I will be King of the Underworld!”
Death The Wolf: (chuckles humorlessly) “Oh, you audaz hijo de puta.”
